From Clay to Table: A Handmade Serving Tray Workshop

Create something beautiful and functional for your next gathering! A perfect complement to the Downeast Cider + Cheese Festival, this three-hour workshop invites you to explore the art of handbuilding as you design and create a one-of-a-kind ceramic serving tray—ideal for cheeses, appetizers, and favorite treats.

Participants will learn and develop slab-building techniques, including forming, shaping, and refining their pieces, while exploring ways to add texture, stamped patterns, and decorative details. With guided instruction and plenty of room for individual creativity, you'll build new skills or expand on those you already have while creating a functional piece that reflects your personal style.

All materials are included. Beginners are welcome, and those with previous clay experience will have opportunities to further develop their skills.
