Spend six weeks exploring the art of handbuilding while creating a beautiful collection of functional and decorative ceramic pieces. Designed for beginners and returning makers alike, each class introduces a new technique and project while building your confidence, creativity, and connection to clay.
From textured wall pockets and glowing tea-light houses to mugs, platters, and teapots, you'll shape a new project each week while building confidence and creativity with clay. After each class, your work will be fired, transforming your creations into lasting handmade pieces ready for pickup.

Experiment with natural patterns and mindful making through this hands-on workshop focused on cyanotypes! This class will explore the basics of cyanotype printing techniques with fabric and paper to create a series of prints and cotton fabric patches. Participants will capture shadows through cyanotype printing, utilizing seasonally foraged plants of the region as well as everyday objects to print with. Join us to experiment with this cameraless photographic printmaking process as a way to connect to the season and objects around us, helping to capture elements of time, place, history, and meaning through unique prints. All materials are provided, and participants may bring their own objects to print with as well.
Open to adults & youth (ages under 14 must be accompanied by an adult).
No experience with any techniques are necessary to join, and all are welcome!
Hosted Tuesday, August 4 and Thursday, August 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In this hand-building workshop, you'll learn how to construct walls, windows, and architectural details while transforming clay into a functional lantern. Inspired by the miniature porcelain "tea-light cottages" popular in Victorian Europe and the enduring symbolism of home found across cultures, your finished piece will cast a warm, welcoming glow and add a touch of handmade magic to any space.

In this beginner-friendly clay workshop, you'll learn how to create rich textures and construct a decorative wall pocket ideal for holding dried flowers, small plants, or everyday treasures. Inspired by decorative wall vessels found in Mediterranean homes and American folk pottery traditions, this project combines beauty and function in a piece you'll be proud to display.

Transform a simple slab of clay into a stunning serving platter using the centuries-old technique of sgraffito. From ancient Greek pottery to Italian Renaissance ceramics, artists have used this decorative carving method to reveal intricate patterns beneath the surface. You'll learn how to layer colored slips, carve your own designs, and create a one-of-a-kind platter that is equally beautiful on the table or displayed on the wall.

Using hand-building techniques that have been practiced for centuries, you'll explore form, texture, and surface decoration while creating a piece that connects art, culture, and everyday ritual. Whether used for your morning coffee or displayed as a work of art, your vessel will celebrate the timeless relationship between craftsmanship and daily life

Few ceramic projects combine artistry and engineering like a teapot. Drawing inspiration from the rich tea traditions of China and Japan, you'll learn how to hand-build a functional teapot complete with a lid, spout, and handle. Along the way, you'll explore balance, proportion, and design while creating a piece that celebrates both the craftsmanship of pottery and the timeless ritual of sharing tea.
